The health benefits of a clean home

Posted on 2017-10-28 by Rodney Aubuchon Posted in Health .

Many people keep a clean home for the purpose of a good looking home. No one wants his friends to visit his room and find a disorganized and untidy home. The feeling of looking dirty and disorganized is one that many people cannot cope with. Many people and hired experts to help them decorate and keep their homes clean. Unknown to many, a clean home has a number of health benefits. Both to the human living in the house as well as the animals living in the home. The health benefits are soo many that doctors are now prescribing the best home hygiene levels to patients. A healthy home helps in recovery of diseases as well as the prevention part of diseases.

Prevention of food borne illness

2A clean home starts with a clean kitchen. The kitchen is the place where food is prepared. Food will finally get in the human body, and if contaminated by an unclean kitchen, a food-borne born disease can erupt. A clean kitchen starts with the mode of storing food. Food should be stored in a clean environment and using the right mode of storage and preservation. Food should always be covered. The covers should be sterilized.

Avoid cross-contamination of meat with other foods through cutting using the same knife, contamination by unwashed hands, and covering by unsterilized rids.

This will avoid the salmonella diseases. Salmonella is a deadly disease especially when it is not treated in early stages. The unclean kitchen will also attract disease cause insects such as rodents and cockroaches. Avoid the health risk by keeping the home clean.

Prevention of water-borne diseases

It is the belief of many that one can only contract a waterborne disease in a hotel or a restaurant. A dirty home is a hub of water-borne diseases. If an outbreak of waterborne diseases has not been experienced, it is on the way.

Cholera can be spread from one member of the family to the other when the toilet is unclean. The bacteria responsible for spreading of cholera can live in a dirty toilet for a long time. A clean toilet prevents members of the family from contracting the disease. Diarrhea is another common waterborne disease associated with a dirty home. Every home should have a tap near the toilet where members can wash their hands to prevent this disease and many another disease. The toilet and the bathroom should be sterilized regularly to avoid infection of worms and other parasites.

Prevention of pests and disease-causing organisms

3Pests and other disease-causing organisms do very well in unclean places. The surroundings of the home should maintain bushes short and stagnant water to eliminate the danger of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are responsible for causing malaria. All the rooms should be kept clean to prevent the invasion and reproduction of rodents. Rodents are a diseases-causing organism. Cockroaches in the kitchen can be a real danger to the family health. Flies are also organisms that cause many diseases and can be avoided by keeping a home clean.
